Introducing
I’m Sharda Sahebdien, a general practitioner since 2005.
After graduating from Leiden University, I registered in the BIG register as a physician in 1998. I then held several positions, working in research as well as in surgery, obstetrics, and gynecology as a resident physician.
Eventually, I found that general practice suited me best. It brings me into contact with a wide variety of patients of all ages, and the diversity of medical conditions keeps me sharp and attentive.
I’ve gained experience in a range of practices—from small solo practices to large healthcare centers. After this broad experience, I realized that a smaller setting suits me best. That’s why I chose to continue as a solo GP, even in a time when GPs are increasingly pushed to work in large-scale teams with many support staff and strict protocols. It’s certainly a challenge.
I like being able to stay in control and, with the support of a small team, work together with my patients to identify the core of the problem and how to solve it. It’s always a matter of teamwork—based on mutual respect.
I’m Evelien Melsen and I live in Alphen aan den Rijn with my lovely daughter Fayenne.
In 2008, I obtained my diploma as a doctor’s assistant in Leiden and started a solo practice in Alphen aan den Rijn together with a general practitioner.
After working there for five enjoyable years, I was ready for a new challenge and spent the next ten years working with great pleasure as a doctor’s assistant at a large medical center in Boskoop.
After becoming a mother, I started working at the Limes out-of-hours GP service, and in 2020 I obtained my diploma as a triage nurse.
Now that my daughter is growing older, I really value being home in the evenings and on weekends.
In addition to my work at the out-of-hours service, I also worked for a while at a GP practice in Leiden.
Now I’m fully ready to start this new adventure with the team at Huisarts De Ster, in what I know will be a dynamic and rewarding practice.
Outside of work and motherhood, I do kickboxing once a week and love spending time with friends and family.
I’m truly happy to be able to share my knowledge and passion for this profession three days a week here at Huisarts De Ster.
I’m Femke, a mom of two boys.
I graduated as a doctor’s assistant in 2018 and started working right away at the GP emergency post.
Because of my young family, I decided to return to a regular work schedule. I’m lucky to be able to do that at Huisartsenpraktijk De Ster.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, friends, and loved ones—whether at home or out and about.
I’m a big fan of coffee, reading, exercising, and being outdoors.
Every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I’m here to help you!
I’m Marthe. I graduated in 2012 as a psychologist (for both adults and children/youth) from Leiden University. Since 2017, I’ve been working as a mental health practice nurse (POH-GGZ) in general practice.
Helping people gives me energy.
Outside of psychology, I love music (listening and singing), being creative, coffee with lots of milk, traveling, and spending time with my family (I’m a mom of two sweet girls), as well as with friends and relatives.
You can find me here every Tuesday morning.
My name is Lisa Ouwerkerk, and I work as a somatic practice nurse.
In my work, I place great importance on providing personal attention and taking the time for each patient. I believe that a strong relationship between caregiver and patient is essential for promoting good health.
My goal is always to provide the best possible care together with the patient, combining medical knowledge with an understanding of the patient’s personal situation. Listening to and understanding the patient’s needs is, in my view, a vital foundation for successful treatment and support.
I’m very excited to start working at Huisartsenpraktijk De Ster.
